When we hear the word hypnosis, we almost always think of people running around barking like dogs or clucking like chickens, after having been hypnotised in some stage show. So the word hypnosis can often make people assume that they would be out of control, when actually hypnosis is the perfect tool to help you take control of the things that you feel, you would like to change in your life! Hypnosis is NOT mind control, in fact almost all of us have experienced everyday forms of hypnosis.
For example: When your watching tv, enjoying your favourite soap or a good movie and you just zone out, becoming oblivious to any conversations going on around you. Someone may even need to call your name several times before you take notice again. This is a form of hypnosis!
Or When you have been daydreaming and something or someone brings back your attention and you think “I was miles away”. This is also a form of hypnosis!
Hypnosis is a perfectly natural trance state! It allows us access to our subconscious mind. The subconscious is the part of the mind that lets us do things without thinking, things like breathing and walking. It is also the storehouse for all of our memories and emotions. This is the part of the mind that we utilise in hypnotherapy to help us achieve positive changes in our lives.
Hypnosis has been around for many, many years and is a completely safe, and very effective way to conquer fears, beat addictions, relax and in general make our lives that little bit better!
